Dr Shokrollahi is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, working on developing a signal processing algorithms to investigate the subtle information hidden in respiratory signals to monitor fluid accumulation in the neck and to detect its relationship with tracheal sound during sleep. She completed her PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University. She has been awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarships in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) for her academic achievements and notable academic performance. She has been also awarded the Ryerson Graduate award for many consecutive years. Moreover, Mehrnaz has been active in professional activities, serving as the vice chair of IEEE Toronto Signal Processing Section, in addition to serving as publication committee coordinator and technical committee member for several IEEE conferences including the ICUE 2011, TIC-STH 2009 and CCECE 2008. She was the Signal Analysis Research (SAR) laboratory manager from 2009-2015.
